You Don't Know Me by Shannon Smith

You say you know me,
When in reality you don't.
You say there's so much you'll show me,
When in reality you won't.
Always saying you know all my secrets,
And that you know everything about my life-
I can't believe that for a point in time I let you be my 'wife'.
No, I'm not turning my back on you-
No, that's not what I'm saying.
All I'm asking you for is a little freedom,
A little... Me Time, if you will.
Stop acting like you know what's coming,
Coming out of my mouth next.
You don't know the pain I feel,
Or the little joys that sometimes find my mind.
I know I say things I don't mean,
But take me for real when I say "The end".
You say you know him, and you know her.
But most importantly, no matter what you think,
You DON'T know me.
